DRV3255-Q1: Gate drive clamping in disabled or reset states

Part Number: DRV3255-Q1

Hello,

our motor drive application might require us to put the driver into a disabled or reset state so that another driver can take over the low-side MOSFET gate drive.
We have found with other vendors drivers that some have a gate drive passive or active clamp in these states to hold the H-bridge MOSFETS in the off state, and these clamps are almost impossible to overdrive without damage.

Can anyone say if the DRV3255-Q1 has such a clamp function, and how strong it is, i.e. can it be over-driven by an external device?

Thanks,
Ian

  • Hi Ian,

Unfortunately I am unable to discuss the specifics of this device due to NDA, however the DRV3255-Q1 may have a feature that might help depending on what you are trying to achieve (this device integrates Active Short Circuit). The best thing I can suggest is for you to try reaching out again about an NDA, in which case if that gets approved we will be able to provide more details. I will see if there is anything I can do on my end to increase the possibility of the NDA getting approved if you try again.

    Regards,

    Anthony Lodi
