DRV8145-Q1: DRVOFF termination

Part Number: DRV8145-Q1

Hi Team,

How to terminate DRVOFF pin when DRVOFF pin is not needed?

Datahseet describes tied off low.

However, DRVOFF pin has internal pull-up.

if we connect DRVOFF to low(tied to GND), there may be unnessesary leak current so it becomes higher leak current.

Is actually tied off low(tied to GND) correct?

regards,

Kai

  • Hello,

Yes, it should be connected directly to GND.  If customer is using a SPI variant, then the status of the outputs can be controlled by a register bit.

To do this, they can leave the DRVOFF pin unconnected (floating) and write a "1" to the DRVOFF_SEL register.  This will create a logical "AND" between the pin itself (DRVOFF) and the internal register bit, S_DRVOFF.  So when the S_DRVOFF bit "AND" the DRVOFF pin are "1", the outputs are disabled.  If the the S_DRVOFF bit is a "0", outputs will be enabled.  This would avoid the unnecessary leakage condition.

    Regards,
