Hi,

We have started the InstaSpin FOC with a BLDC motor. Now once we put the speed reference as 1500 RPM, the motor reaches to 1325 rpm and remains on that speed, even after giving higher reference speed. I have changed the parameter value of USER_MOTOR_MAX_CURRENT to (20.0) and USER_MOTOR_FLUX_EST_FREQ_Hz (100.0) in user.h file. Still the motor speed is not reaching more than 1325 RPM. Can u please suggest which parameter to change to increase the speed?

Hey Goutam,

How are you measuring the RPM of the motor? Can you share the motor parameters?

Hi Akshay,

I am measuring the RPM by Tachometer. The reading of the Tachometer matches with the GUI motor speed values. Please find the attached screen shot of motor parameters.

I think the problem lies in the output of the speed controller, i.e. iq_ref. Do you know how to increase the iq_ref saturation limit?

Please take a look at guides in the folders below in motorWare, and follow the guides to set up the kits and run the lab.

1. Do you identify the motor parameters with lab02b and set the correct identified motor parameters in user.h?

2. What's nominal voltage of the motor? Please try to increase the dc bus voltage to see what happens?
