DRV10983EVM: BEMF Constant parameter settings

Hi Team,

When configuring parameters on the GUI software, we need to enter the BEMF Constant in mv/hz. From the motor manual, we found that the motor speed constant is 2300 rpm/V. Do these two refer to the same indicator? If so, how to convert between mv/hz and rpm/V?

Hi Annie,

If you invert 2300 rpm/V -> (V/rpm)

You need to know number of poles. Then extract HZ --> (2300 / 60)*Pole Pair

Please remember it is per phase , please check if the constant is measured Phase to Phase. Then we need to divide by 2 for per phase.

The display interface of the GUI software has a BEMF Constant value. Is this value an accurate value measured and calculated by the software? Is it possible to directly set the motor parameters to this value?

Are you referring to this window?

This value is estimated value and it is accurate if the Phae current and BEMF are well aligned.

There is some background theory about achieving the proper alignment. Have you verified Tuning guide ?

The tuning guide provides the BEMF constant measurement method. DRV10983 and DRV10975 Tuning Guide (Rev. D) (ti.com)
