Hello Team,

   we have already developed BLDC driver using DRV8306 for normal linear operation. we want to upgrade the design by including below features in it.

1. oscillation mode- motor should able to oscillate from  200rpm to 20k rpm 

2. Position control using incremental and absolute encoder feedback

can above feature will be able to achieve using DRV8306 , if not please suggest another IC and  also which commutation we need to used.

do you have evaluation board which can have similar function.

    Hi Sayali,

    To use an encoder to provide feedback for position control, this feature will have to be implemented with an external MCU or external circuitry.

    Oscillating with the DRV8306 maybe difficult, to best achieve oscillation using an external MCU to implement the motor control algorithm maybe the better solution.

    For the gate driver with external MCU solution, I would recommend using the DRV8320 which offers smart gate drive or the DRV8328 for a more cost effective solution. If you require current sensing I recommend the DRV8323 or DRV8329.
