DRV8412: DRV8432 Full Bridge alternatives

Part Number: DRV8412
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8320, CSD88584Q5DC,

We are using the DRV8432 driver for years to control two L-C tank resonators, one for each Full Bridge. As known DRV8432 is obsolete and we are looking for an alternative.

The main advantage for us is that the full bridge of DRV8432 could be manage with very low voltage, in our case 1.5Vdc which is within the range according to the datasheet: 0 - 52.5Vdc.

There are some alternatives but they have a min. voltage of 4.5V - 5.5V, which is no valid for us. I read the FAQ post but they have this min voltage lockout.

Our design requires 9 - 10A current, so in order to minimize the power losses and temperature we are evaluating the BOOSTXL-DRV8230x which includes the DRV8320 and the CSD88584Q5DC NMOS power block. They work really good at 24Vdc and high current, but the driver also has a minim of 6V operation, so we cannot work at 1.5Vdc.

This driver uses a Vdrain pin to sense the limit current. As described in the datasheet this pin must be connected to the DRAIN of MOSFETs (CSD88584Q5DC) and I read in the forums is it not recommended to separate this connection due internal performance (I was thinking to separate them to achieve the 1.5Vdc in the half bridge).

So my concern are:

1. If there are some full or half bridge driver which operates from 0 to >30V and 9 - 10A. DRV8412 driver is not enough for our application in terms of current and temperature.

2. If not, there are any alternative using a separate driver + Mosfet as used in BOOSTXL-DRV8230x? Can I modify the recommended this topology to work within the range 1.5 to >30Vdc?
