Hello,

I need to control a unipolar motor but I cannot use it in bipolar mode, do you have a driver to recommend ?

Stepper motor specs :

VEXTA PK245-02AA
2 phase
unipolar
0.8A/phase
6v

Also I need to be able to control the driver with an arduino.

Hello Pierre,

Please review this application note, https://www.ti.com/lit/an/sloa312/sloa312.pdf. The DRV8805 is a purpose built Unipolar stepper driver with integrated indexer supporting STEP/DIR interface. If the current (it does support 0.8A/phase) and voltage (8.2-V to 60-V Operating Supply Voltage Range) capability fits your application this device would be a good fit. You can also follow suggestions from the cited application note. Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for your response, the problem is that all of these drivers need a minimum of 8.2-V for the operating supply but for my application it needs to be 6-V. ( I think I've looked at all the drivers in the document you've linked but if I've missed one fell free to tell me)

For 6V operation the DRV8847, DRV8932, DRV8935 and DRV8955 could be options for your application.
