Hi team,

Customer is considering the risk of mix populate different DRV89XX version, would you pls help us understand using below two scenario as example;

populating DRV8906 on DRV8908 place, what's the the risk of NC pin connect to external motor winding?

populate DRV8908 on DRV8906 place, what's the risk of OUT7&8 no external connection (if not enable related output OLD)?

Also I see in the datasheet DRV8910 12 have the same thermal resistance, DRV8904-08 have same thermal resistance, how to understand the difference between the two group and the similarity within the group?  Could DRV8904 have higher OCP compared with DRV8908 in real scenario?

    Hi Scarlett,

    Thank you for your question. DRV89xx-Q1 has NC pin. NC pins are internally "not connected to silicon, no wire bonding". No risk is expected.

    Yes, DRV8910-Q1 and DRV8912-Q1 are thermal resistance. DRV8904-08Q1 are same. Functionally there are two categories as follows.

    OCP level is same.
