Hello Team,

I am working on LMG5200MOFT IC and I want to understand the logic inside the IC.

If HI is High, as per my understanding final Top GaN FET is OFF and if HI is Low, it is ON.

Same logic for LI also.

Please confirm me on the logic.

Thank you,

Tejasri.

  • Hello,

I believe your interpretation is incorrect. Please see Figures 6-9 of the LMG5200 datasheet, I will include an excerpt below:

From the figure, the high side FET turns ON when the HI signal goes HIGH. The same logic applies to the low side FET.

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

Could you please explain in detail of the internal logic circuit.

If HI is High - UVLO - High, output of AND is High

Level shifter output - High, UVLO & Clamp - High then bottom N-channel FET is High and top P-channel FET is Low making Top FET OFF.

    Thank you,

    Tejasri.

  • Hello Tejarsi,

There is a mistake in the functional block diagram you are referencing, it is missing an inverter which is why the signals appear to be backwards.
Please refer to the turn-on and turn-off diagrams I have shared with you.

    Thanks,
    Zach Soviero
