Tool/software:
hi team,
my customer wants to use DRV8955 to connect the capacitive load in digital output module.
Will it cause any problems? thanks!

Hi Zoey,
What is the value of the capacitance of the load? Would it be a purely capacitive load?
When driving a pure capacitive load the current regulation function in the DRV8955 will be unusable. Connect VREF to 3.3 V such that current regulation does not kick-in. If the capacitive load is driven with a PWM input then the customer has to make sure the load current does not exceed the device's capabilities both from an OCP and thermal shutdown standpoint. You can calculate the current through a capacitor while driven with PWM using, Icapacitor = Vcapacitor / XC reactance, Reactance XC = 1/(2*Π*f*C) f is the PWM frequency, C is capacitance.
