Hi,

Can I be able to implement regenerative braking using this driver for my application? If Yes, Are there any hardware considerations in driver side that needs to be taken care of?

    Hi Reshma,

    Thank you for your questions. I think regenerative braking meant energy recovery. DRV does not have such a funtion.

    Hi Shinya,

    Thank you for your answer.DRV8714 is used in my application to drive motor using external Mosfets . By regeneration, I meant to supply back my energy from the motor to supply terminals through the MoSFETs during braking. If my understanding is right, DRV just needs to provide the required PWM for braking. So, I hope this is possible. Could you please confirm this again.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

    As datasheet fig 7-16, braking function is possible. However motor energy does not go to supply. If All FET turned off, energy goes to supply. DRV can make all FETs turned off.
