Can the DRV8434SEVM evaluation board be used to drive a stepper motor without implementing the SPI port.

    Hi Stephen,

    In the DRV8434S device the EN_OUT bit in CTRL2 register is 0b by default at power on. The outputs will be enabled after EN_OUT = 1b and ENABLE pin is logic HIGH. See below from the datasheet. So it is not possible to enable outputs without implementing the SPI communication.

    We have the GPIO controlled option of the same features and performance in stepper driver with the DRV8434A device. Please review this product and the DRV8434AEVM. Thank you.
