MCF8315D: CPAP Applications

Part Number: MCF8315D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MCF8316D, , MCF8315C, DRV8313

Tool/software:

Hi, we're interested in CPAP market applications. Why has been removed the statement "CPAP Machines" from MCF8315D and MCF8316D in respect to MCF8315C and MCF8316C?

Is there a specific tachnical/safety reason? Can we still explore this technology?

Best Regards,

Luca P.

  • HI Luca P,

    Thanks for posting your question.

What is the power rating of the CPAP motor and functional specification?

Can you help with more detail about your product and specification? Any specific compliance related to architecture?

    Thanks and Best Regards

    Venkatadri S

  • Hi Venkatadri, the rating of our motors are really lower than the ones of the driver, (maximum 2A, 24V, typical 1A).

Our products are not intended for life-support devices.

We already used thousands of your DRV8313 in our CPAP without any problem.

My concern is about the removing of the example "CPAP machines" in the applications examples of the new "MFCXXXXD" series.

Is just for marketing purposes or there is some technical detail?

     Best Regards,

  • Hi Luca P,

Most CPAP power ratings are more than 50W and hence we wanted to mention with MCF8329 instead of integrated FET solutions.

Definitely MCF8316C/D are good for your specification.

    Thanks and Best Regards
