During actuator testing, all of the following actuators exceeded the chopping current limit.

 - Linak DK-6430

 - Timotion TA23, TA36

 - Richmat A58.

I think some scenario can be considered why your copping current level is higher.

1) SENSE 50mohm could be lower than 50mohm. 

2) If VM is higher and motor inductor is smaller, Motor current peak gets high in the short period of time. While tBLANK time current peak will be high.

3) They may check motor current, SO voltage, SH voltage to check.

I have configured the system as follows, with SENSE = 20mΩ, and the remaining components set as below:

Chopping Current = 10A

• VM = 32V
• R1 = 1KΩ
• R2 = 10KΩ
• SENSE = 20mΩ
• Av = 20V

Chopping Current = 8A

• VM = 32V
• R1 = 4.7KΩ
• R2 = 10KΩ
• SENSE = 20mΩ
• Av = 20V

What I would like to confirm is whether the DRV8701P has a maximum chopping current limit.
So far, I have verified that the chopping current works correctly up to 8A, but at 10A, it does not function properly.

Could you provide clarification on whether there is a specific maximum chopping current limit for the DRV8701P?
