DRV8316C: Variant Version

Tool/software:

Two questions here.

1. Is the only difference on 3.3V LDO between DRV8316 and DRV8316C? What else?

2. Is there similar part with DRV8316C that is 24V input voltage (max. input voltage is up to 40V)?

    1. Another difference is that the CSA error is a tighter specification on the DRV8316C device. (more strict boundary, which is recommended)

    2. Here are some similar devices we recommend for 24V voltage level:

    DRV8311 -> Smaller footprint for size constrained applications

    DRV8317 -> Slightly larger device with better thermal performance

  • Thanks. Customer would like to look for high input voltage as DRV8316 40V since the typical VIN is 24V and the regen energy would lead to the input rail voltage increased. Is there other alternative one? Thanks.

    We do have the DRV8376 which is a little bit higher of a voltage at 70V.

    Is there a problem the customer is having with DRV8316 that is causing them to look for an alternative?
