do I have to connect thermal pad of DRV8910-q1 to ground on PCB？or just leave pad floating

    Hi Amber,

    Typically, the thermal pad of the DRV8910-Q1 is connected to system GND. This is how it is connected in our EVM. The Altium files for the EVM can be downloaded from the EVM webpage. Thank you.

    If I don't connect pad to GAN, what result will happen?

    Hi Amber,

    The layout example recommendation in the datasheet shows the thermal pad connected to GND. See below. This is recommended best practice. While electrically it is not required to GND the thermal pad for device operation, if left floating it may be susceptible to noise depending on the application. But the functionality of the device may be okay under ideal recommended operating conditions.
