Hello,

For our Forklift Inverter Motor Controller project, which will have two variants: 48V-350A and 96V-300A, we are planning to drive multiple parallel-connected FETs using a gate driver IC.

The DRV3255-Q1 is suitable for our 48V system, but I believe it is not appropriate for the 96V system.

Is there a gate driver IC similar to the DRV3255-Q1 that is suitable for a 96V and 48V system?

Hi Egemen,

Unfortunately we do not currently have a device in BLDC that supports a 96V application, however potentially you could consider a TI half bridge driver in the UCC family of parts that can support higher voltages. Is automotive grade a requirement? Is there any ASIL requirement for the system?

Could you recommend half bridge driver for our application?

Automotive grade is not necessary. We are looking for functional safety capable or compliant component for reach IEC-61508 SIL2 and PLd as per ISO13849.

Hey Egemen,

Thank you for reaching out to TI with your questions about a gate driver.

For the 48V system, we have 120V half-bridge gate drivers such as the recently released UCC27301A-Q1 that is a 3.7A/4.5A driver and is functional safety capable.

For the 96V system, please send me a friend request to discuss this via private message.
