MCF8315A: Regarding SPEED input

Part Number: MCF8315A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MCF8315C-Q1, MCF8315C

Tool/software:

Hi support team all.

I have received the following inquiry from my customer.

Q1:

The SPEED/WAKE pin is connected to the AVDD pin.

The speed control is set to analog input.

When the power is turned on, the device does not start any operation.

I cannot access it via I2C.(I cannot read or write.)

Why is this?

At least, I could not find any information on the datasheet.

Is this a specification that is not mentioned in the datasheet?

Q2:

I would like to drive the SPEED pin at 100% duty without controlling it externally.

This is not possible with the MCF8315A, so please tell me a product that can clear this issue.

An additional condition is that the product has the same package size and pin arrangement.

I found the MCF8315C-Q1 on the web.

However, there was no information in the datasheet of this product that could be used to determine whether this is possible.

Best regards,

Higa
