Hi All,

I have a question about the DRV81080-Q1.

"all channels" refers to the current that can flow per channel when all channels from OUT0 to OUT7 are driven?
What is the difference between this and half of the channels active?

Hello Ishiwata-San,

Thanks for your question.

When only half the channels are only driven then the power dissipation within the device is going to be lower. This can help run higher current through the device on 4 channels.

Half channels active mentioned in the datasheet means that only 4 channels are operational and the other 4 are not having any current.

Thank you for your answer.

For example, if only one channel is driven, is the maximum current that can flow 470mA?

Also, can a current of 470mA x 2 be passed by shorting two channels?

It is assumed that no channels other than the two shorted channels will function.
