DRV3946-Q1: Stepping down IPROP voltage

Part Number: DRV3946-Q1

Hello,

I am designing a PCB with the DRV3946-Q1 to control two contactors. The contactors have a hold current of 0.3A at 12V. Using the calculation in Table 6.7 in Section 6.3.5.1.1 of the datasheet, I calculated that RIPROP=20k would provide the lowest measurement range and highest resolution for the peak and hold current (min=~0.19A, max=~3A, res=~0.011A).

According to section 5.3 of the datasheet, the IPROP signal is a 0-5V analog signal. Is this correct? If so, I would like to know the recommended design to shift this to a 0-3.3V analog signal. Would a simple resistor divider suffice, taking into account the 20k RIPROP resistor between IPROP and GND? Or should I combine it with a unity gain opamp? Or would a completely different approach yield the best results?

Kind regards, Jeffrey
