Dear TI team,

 

I am designing gate driver cicuit for 48V,6KW motor controller.

I want to understand effect of ripple current on gate driver. 

I am considering rated ripple of 70A at 210A continous current and 190A at 550A peak current. While designing DC link cap ,which current need to consider and why? Is it peak phase current or rated phase current?

Do I need to considering any capacitors near gate driver IC for high frequency ripple currents?

    Thanks for posting the question. Usually when discussing ripple on the power supply, we talk about voltage ripple. 

    Do you have voltage ripple requirements and which supplies is this for?
