DRV8834EVM not working

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8834EVM, DRV8834

Dear TI,

I am run the DRV8834EVM with a bipolar stepper motor in Internal Microstepper Control mode

but the motor will not run.  The nEnabl signal is at 3.24V also D2 is blinking I have the  1-0-0 in the lower left corner of the app.

I have:

BDECAY MSP430

ADECAY MSP430

BVREF AVREF

AVREF MSP430

JP1 is connected

JP3 is connected

JP4 is connected

What am I missing?

Thanks

  • Hi Ken,

nENABLE has to be LO for the ENABLE signal to be asserted. This is standard on our internal indexer stepper drivers. Can you try with nENABLE LO and let us know if you still have a problem? Thanks!

    Best regards,

    Jose Quinones

  • Hi Jose,

How do I get nENABLE LO?  I have tried  setting and unsetting the nENABLE box in the DRV8834 WIN APP which doesn't seem to do anything.

I don't see any other way to adjust the configuration.  By the way the Config box on the Internal Microstepper Control page is checked.

Never mind...I reboot the PC and all the issues went away.  Should have tried that earlier.

    Thanks

    Ken
