DRV8806: trouble to output data from the shift register

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8806

Hi,

I have configured three DRV8806 in daisy chain connected to a SPI module of my MCU. The clock , the latch and data IN seems to act correctly. Enable signal is active and reset signal is inactive. For a unknown reason, I'm not able to change the outputs state of those drivers.

I want to know if an open circuit fault can stop the three drivers to operate correctly ?

When configured in daisy chain, it's necessary to put a pull-up resistor on SDOUT pin for each DRV8806?

I attached the schematic that I made for my application to this message :

Thank you,

  • Hi Alexandre,

What frequency are you using on the SPI? The internal pull up will work for frequencies up to 1 MHz. Anything faster will require a pull up per SDATAO output.

Open circuit faults should not make the entire system inoperable.

    Best regards,
