Hi,

Do anybody have case study or test report for TMS320F28069 Controller, Which proves below requirements,

1. Capable of controlling the DC brushless motor up to 60,000 RPM.

2. Minimum CPU utilization while achieving above condition.

If you have used above controller in any of your design. Please let me know what is the maximum RPM it controls.

I don't have a case-study or whitepaper available but I've been able to control the speed of medical tools (dental drills, surgical drills, surgical shavers) over 80,000 rpm using the TMS320F28069 and InstaSPIN-MOTION. This implementation only uses ~30% of the available MIPS on the 28069 device.

The maximum speed available is dependent on the the electrical speed of the motor. Ideally you want to run the FOC loop at least 10x faster than the maximum electrical speed of your motor. This is what will limit the top speed achievable by this controller.

I need some more information, Please let me know what type of motor you have used and please share the specification of motor.

Please find the below motor details, which I need to control,

Motor details,

Voltage : 24V +/- 10%

Wattage : 30W

Pole: 8

Type: Coreless DC Brushless motor

INSTA SPIN -MOTION is just a GUI for controlling and monitoring the parameters of motor or does it has any PID control loop algorithm.

The motor I used had very similar specifications to what you mentioned. It was a 40V, 4 Pole, Coreless, Brushless DC Motor.

InstaSPIN-MOTION is a motor and motion control software suite. It is for more than just a GUI. The GUI is only to help make evaluation of this software suite easier. You need to download the MotorWare software in order to make use of this advanced motor control software.

The TMS320F28054 controller is being released very soon with InstaSPIN-MOTION capability as well.
