LMD18201 brake pin voltage problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMD18201

I have a motor control h-bridge board with lmd18201. And lmd18201 is driven by msp430 launchpad. Even if i dont connect launchpad, if we observe brake pin voltage of lmd18201 it shows vcc. Ideally brake pin is an input pint right? How do i resolve it

  • Inputs can float High if they have an internal pullup.  It's not clear to me from the datasheet if the brake pin has this.  If you try connecting a resistor from brake to ground and measure the brake voltage, you can easily determine the internal pullup resistance.  It should generally be >10kohm.

The important thing is that the MSP430 can drive it Low.

    Best regards,
