I'm having an issue with driving gate signals with the DRV83201. In one experiment, I'm only driving one high side, high side A, at 15 kHz to see if if I can see the resulting square wave on the output of the 83201. The micro is being powered with 3.3 V and PVDD1 on the motor drive IC is set to 24 V. On startup, I enable the gate driver and wait for about 1.5-2 seconds before driving the input PWM. The TI IC is using the default parameters as I am not yet sending SPI communications to the chip. What I am seeing on the output is a signal with a frequency of 15 kHz, but it's not a clean square wave, just periodic sharp pulses. When trying to drive a single low side at the same time in order to power a connected motor coil, I still see sharp pulses but at a much lower frequency, ~1 kHz. It almost seems as soon as the gate voltage starts to turn on, it's being forced to turn off. As a note, the capacitor sizes that we have connected to the chip are the same ones being used in the example schematic shown towards the bottom of the 83201 datasheet.
Does this seem like an issue that can be attributed to the circuit design of the board I'm working on, or is this possibly an issue with the way I am driving the chip? I can give more details on the circuit design I'm working with and other information if needed. Thanks for any help.
