Possible DR2605 and CC26XX interface in TIDA 00266

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541, CC2640

Hi Haptics team,

I am looking at TIDA 00266, our Haptic with BLE reference design. The reference design uses CC2541 and recently we released CC2640/50. I understand that CC2541 is 8051 and CC26XX is ARM Cortex M3 and a bit of work would be required to replace CC2541 with CC26XX. Is there any update on the reference design/EVM/firmware/Design Files with DR2605 interfaced with CC26XX instead of CC2541?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,

Rifat Sheikh

  • Rifat,

Great timing! We are working on two different projects

    1. Cap Touch Devpack with Haptics with the CC team on CC26xx.

    2. Cap Touch EVM with Bluetooth on our next gen EVM kit with the CC26xx device.

I would like to know more about the use case and feel free to send me an email. I can reveal the time lines privately as well.

  • Gautham,

I submitted this same request to a local FAE about 1 month ago, and still don't have any answer to that question.

When will the firmware for the current TIDA00266 be ported to the CC26cc BLE device?

    Thanks,

    Patrick

  • Hi Patrick,

Was the request from Alan Neidig (Arrow)?
To answer your question - you can leverage CC2541's reference design code available on ti.com for CC26XX. I was reading through CC2640 Software Developer’s Guide (www.ti.com/.../swru393.pdf), section 10 page 101 talks about porting from CC254X to CC2640. From the Haptics side on the reference design, the implementation takes a few I2C writes and reads. The entire register map for Haptics is under 30 bytes.

    Thanks,
