drv10983evm eeprom write doesn't work

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV10983EVM

I have purchased a DRV10983EVM and am using it to evaluate for a new application. I am having a problem with it however. I cannot seem to write the configuration that I have set up to EEPROM using the eeWrite button. A window pops up when I hit this button that says "Please make sure the power supply is higher than 22V". I hit OK and the window disappears but nothing seems to happen. When I reload from eeprom using eeRefresh, I can see that my changes were not correctly burned into eeprom. Any ideas? I need to flash the EEPROM for a few chips using a tool like this, but this tool doesn't seem to be doing the job...

  • Hi Matt

Yes. You need make sure the supply voltage is >22V when programming the eeprom.

So now you are sure all the connection and communication is successful and the only issue is writing the eeprom?

Then, you can try different USB port and writing for more times. Normally if we can use it for registers tuning with no problem, it should be fine to do the eeprom writing as well.

    Best regards,

  • I am now able to write to eeprom. The process that I had to use was:

    1) the field near the EEPROM Key to something other than B6 and press enter

    2) Set the field near the EEPROM Key back to B6 and then press enter

    3) Hit eeWRITE

It seems you can't just enter the EEPROM key once and then write to EEPROM as many times as you want..
