I have a question about DRV8801-Q1.
What is the thermal shutdown temperature(min) ?
If you have a graph, which shows time vs thermal resistance, could you please provide it?
The following graph is an example of the other device.

Hi Shiraishi-san,

The data is not available. Please note the device will issue a thermal warning fault when it is approaching thermal shutdown. If the fault is not acted upon (lowering the PWM duty cycle or some other method of reducing the current), the device will disable the outputs to protect itself. Once the device has cooled down, the outputs will re-enable automatically.

We do not have a graph showing time vs thermal resistance.

Hi Makoto,

Thank you of feedback.

As Rick said, we don't have the curve. With proper heat dissipation desige such as eoungh PowerPAD copper area, the device will be able to running to its MAX limit current in the spec. So in your listed condition it will be fine if in normal ambient temperature and PowerPAD connection.

I think the -40 ℃～125 ℃.

Hi Makoto

The operation range is -40 to 125 degree but that not guarantee the TSD free at 125 degree and MAX I output. TSD happens when joinction temp is above 150 degree.

Device power consumption, ambient temperature, and PowerPAD layout, thermal resistance are all contributing to the TSD event.

How long will the 2A current and .67A current be used?

Hi Shiraishi-san,

The minimum thermal shutdown is 160C.
