Camera gimbals driver with TIDA-00827

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00827

I am looking for a brushless controller for camera gimbals. TIDA-00827 is an Integrated Sensored BLDC Motor Controller Reference Design, with intended applications include camera gimbals. My questions are:

1. where is the firmware and source code for this reference design ?

2. Is this reference design really intended for brushless camera gimbals, where the camera can be oriented to any direction and hold its position ?

  • Hi Youbin,

    1. We unfortunately do not have firmware published for this reference design at the moment.

    2. Yes, the system demonstrates the hardware needed for single axis BLDC motor control. Motor commutation feedback is handled by the hall sensor feedback and the on board potentiometer emulates a rotary pot that is often used for position feedback of the motor. Another method is to drive the motor with a sinusoidal drive and obtain position feedback through 2 linear hall sensors.
