DRV2665/DRV2667

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2665, DRV2667, DRV8662

Hello Expert

My name is Noriaki Fukazawa.

I have a question about DRV2665 and DRV2667 .

I understand these product can be use to drive the piezo electric element.

What is driving the smallest piezo element's capacitance possible?

It is my convenience, please give me answer as soon as possivle.

Best Regars,

Fukazawa.

  • Hello Noriaki,

Yes those devices are piezo drivers. The minimum capacitance depends on how high the boost needs to be and the frequency desired.. Please ask a specific question and provide more detail for an answer.
If you think the capacitance is too low to drive, then a parallel capacitor can always be added to provide stable output.

  • Hello Kelly-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
Sorry, my question was shortage .
I will explain in detail about piezo element to use my customer.

    ① piezo capacitance = 6nF
    ②Resonance Frequency = 30KHz~100KHz
    ③Vout = 100~125V

    I think DRV2665 and DRV2667 (DRV8662)is clear ③ conditions.
But, I don't know these products clear ①② conditions.
Does these product clear ①② condition?

I will wait for your reply.

    Best Regars,

    Noriaki
  • Hi Noriaki-san,

Our drivers can operate at this low of a capacitance. However, the frequency is above the bandwidth of the amplifier with no load. Refer to the electrical characteristics - amplifier bandwidth. With no load at 50Vpp, the max frequency is 20 kHz.
I'm sorry to say that none of our piezo drivers can operate at this high of frequency.

  • Hi, Kelly

    Thank you for your reply.

My customer understand the relationship between the drive voltage and the amplifier bandwidth.

    This matter became close.

Thank you for your quick answer!!

    Best,Regars.
