DRV591: DRV591 application

Part Number: DRV591

Hello All,

My customer Huawei uses DRV591 to drive TEC, the output current will reach 3A when the temperature is -40C. They want to know:

1. In our datasheet, the max output current is 3A(typ), what's the min and max value? considering aging and reliability, how much margin does customer need to reserve?

2. Is there any problem of Huawei's application? If the output current is higher than 3A, what's the impact to our part?

Regards,

Nanfang

  • Hi Nanfang,

Our experts have been notified and should reply soon.
  • Hi, Nanfang,

We usually specify only the typical maximum output current. The maximum output current the device can drive over different temperature rating is depicted in figure 13 of the datasheet.

This part features an overcurrent detection feature to protect the device from high current damage by putting the outputs in High impedance when the event is detected. The overcurrent protection will trigger if the output current reaches 4A.
