DRV8880: Data sheet error wrt setting for decay and auto tune pins

Hi Support team

My customer pointed out an error in the data sheet, specifically when in Auto Tune mode - section 7.3.6 of the data sheet specifies that the DECAYx pins should be pulled logic low, section 7.3.5 specifies that these pins are ignored in AutoTune mode. Which configuration is preferred for AutoTune mod, floating the decay pins or pulling low ?

Hi Jeff,

The should be pulled to a logic low. As the device awakens in AutoTune mode, the DECAYx pins are latched as logic low.

Once the device is awake in AutoTune mode, changing the pins has no effect.
