BOOSTXL-DRV8320H: arduino LaunchPad

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8320H

Hello, as recommended by  I purchased the BOOSTXL-DRV8320H to drive it with an Arduino.

In the DataSheet I see a pin called MODE. How is this pin used? what values are to be sent to set the mode? Is there a datasheet that refers to the exclusive operation of the BOOSTXL-DRV8320H without using its connection to the MSP430 as the only way of explaining its functionality?

What is recommended to interface to the BOOSTXL-DRV8320H with an Arduino? its SPI the best way? Is there an example to follow? Otherwise should I connect directly to the drivers? is there an Application Note or other info that can be provided?

Thanks!

Pablo

  • Hi Pablo,

The MODE pin operation is described in Figure 32 and section 8.3.1.1 of the datasheet.

No, there is no datasheet that refers to the exclusive operation of the BOOSTXL-DRV8320H without using its connection to the MSP430 as the only way of explaining its functionality.

The Arduino can be connected directly to the BOOSTXL-DRV8320H header using jumper wires. The recommended connection is GPIO control. This connection works although it is not ideal.

There are not app notes or examples to follow. The BOOSTXL-DRV8320H was documented for one application.
