DRV-ACC16-EVM: Restrictions on using schematics of reference designs.

Hello great people,

I am a student and currently a part of the texas university program. In my project, I need to make use of the accelerometer (although TI has none available). But, I found the reference design " DRV-ACC16-EVM" very helpful to get more insight into the sensor.

Please tell me whether I can use the circuit diagram used in the reference design (as shown in the pdf in the link below). Also tell me , upto what extent can the circuit be used (I mean like for designing a product that I can sell....). Am I allowed to do so?

Hi Prashant,

You can use the design of the EVM and design it in a product, however Texas Instruments does not take responsibilities on the final product, as the evaluation modules are only designed for device evaluation and are not certified for resale.

Thank you Ivan. But please clarify whether I can copy the circuit diagram exactly.(Although I am no way doing that). But will I be sued in such an attempt?

Prashant,

You could do it, however once again, Texas Instruments takes no responsibility on the final product even if it was copied from EVM design.
