DRV8301: drv8301-hc-evm rev d_R107, R95...

I have a drv8301-hc-evm rev d kit and a scheme.

I used to run 48V BLDC Motor.

Under the motor max current, I know that kit's R107, R95; R108, R105; R113, R103 must be changed because of Rfb = [(3.3V-1.65V)(Max current*0.002)]*Rin.

So, do we have to change Rfb resister(R107, R95; R108, R105; R113, R103)  every time the motor?

Or when motor change, motor's max current is changed.

Q1. could I use kit without Rfb value change?

Q2. What is voltage filter pole? Is it like LPF?

    The resistors only need to change if your max current will exceed the allowed value. You can use the same value for any current below the max current. If you would like finer resolution then you can change this resistor lower.

    Q2. I have two guide manual for drv8301-hc-evm rev d kit.
    In one manual(Texas Instruments DRV830x Rev D.Quick Start Manual Shunt Current Feedback 20 page), I read the following
    " This pole should be designed to fall between 200<=Pole<=USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_FREQ_Hz/4[hard upper limit]"

    In other manual(InstaSPIN-FOC and InstaSPIN-MOTION User's Guide (Rev. G) page233), I read the following.
    " IQ_FULLSCALE_FREQUENCY_Hz must be set to a value <4.0*USER_VOLTAGE_FITER_POLE_Hz to avoid numerical saturation."

    Which one is right?

    I don't have that data unfortunately but we have customers who have used it for very high power.

    I will direct your other questions to the C2000 team because they could answer it better.

  • Q1. The maximum current depends on the spec. of MOSFET and heat cooling of the board, recommend the peak phase current is less than 60A.
    Q2. Please just follow " IQ_FULLSCALE_FREQUENCY_Hz must be set to a value <4.0*USER_VOLTAGE_FITER_POLE_Hz" and the recommendation value in InstaSPIN user's guide.
