DRV2605: several DRV2605 on the same I2C bus

Hi,

My customer used 4 pcs DRV2605 in one system and out them on the same I2C BUS. As the slave address is the same, can they use EN pin to select different device? Or they have to use an I2C switch?

Hi Brian,

As described in the data sheet, EN pin does not reset the device register, so this could be possible.
If the same data is needed for all DRV2605 devices, they can use the broadcast address, described in section 7.5.3.1 from data sheet: www.ti.com/.../drv2605.pdf

Brian,

Please disregard the first part of my last post. During EN-Low state the device registers are not reset, however the device can still ACK the I2C transaction, so I2C switch would still be needed if they need to send different data to each device.
