Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8701
Hello,
I have a one more question about a holding current.
I understood there is a holding current.
Could you tell me how much the typical value of the holding current?
Best Regards,
Naoki Aoyama

Hi Aoyama-san,
The DRV8704 is a dual brushed motor driver.
There is no typical holding current.
The chopping current is typically intended to limit the startup and stall current of the brushed motors. The chopping current depends on the stall current of the motor and is set by Equation 10.
Hi Rick-san,
Thank you for your reply.
Sorry for my poor explanation.
What I am asking does not mean a holding current for stepping motor.
It is mentioned "a weak current source is used to keep the gate at the desired state."
at P16 on the datasheet.
Another same functional products, like the DRV8701, a weak current is described as holding current.
Could you tell me how much the typical value of the weak current?
Best Regards,
Naoki Aoyama
