DRV8332: DRV8332 Shortcircuit

Part Number: DRV8332

Hi,

We are trying to run the DRV8332 on a breadbord but have already burnt 3 of them. We still did not find the issue, but we are worried if it can be in the connection of the three RESET_X ports. We are fixing them at 3.3V expecting regular operation, should they be connected differently? We were not able to figure out from the datasheet,

Thank you very much,

Pablo

  • Pablo,

We do not support the use and debug of breadboards, they are too unreliable and unsuitible for the power levels required by our systems.

    Please try an EVM.

That being said, the VIN recommended max for the RESET_X pins is 3.6V and the absolute maximum is the VREG level + 0.5V. Please make sure you are not applying more than 0.5V above VREG on the RESET_x pins at any time.

The RESET pins are active low, the device will operate when these pins are set HIGH (3.3V nominal).

    Regards,

    -Adam
