DRV8872-Q1: Overcurrent protection trip level

Part Number: DRV8872-Q1

Hi team,

How to set the protection trip level, when using DRV8872-Q1 in On-Board Charger application to lock the charging gun?

I notice that on datasheet, the overcurrent protection trip level varies from 3.7A to 6.6A, range is huge.  When i consider the margin, which value should i take

  • Hi Gene,

The overcurrent protection trip level is intended for unexpected events and cannot be changed. This limit is set to protect the device in case of a short to ground or short to power on the outputs.

OCP will occur between 3.7 and 6.6A. The deglitch time allows for inrush currents higher than 6.6A.
