DRV8873HEVM: GUI not working on Windows 10

Hi Tim,

Did you modify the defaut installation directories?

Did you run the installation in administrator mode?

All defaults. Multiple reboots.

I installed it on a generic Windows 10 laptop. IT has gotten a hold of it. And it works. I did need to do a reboot.

On my laptop, a nice one, after multiple reboots still doesn't work.

I do have a Windows security window with ZSATray.exe wanting to connect to IT. Not sure if that's related.

Any ideas on where to look?

--> Not sure what effect the ZSATray.exe is having. Maybe it is preventing a installation step. Does your other laptop run it?

Did you try to run it without the ZSTray being active?

Not sure. Its a new anti virus thing that IT installed. I tried before & after login. No difference.

The app appears to install in 2 parts. Is there a log file showing run status?

Is it possible to run exempt the software installation from the antivirus checks? If that is the main difference both your computers, it might be a pointer to the issue.

Not sure if I can exempt that software installation from the Antivirus software. There is other antivirus software running to. We tend to not know about these things.

One computer is Windows 7, GUI works. Laptop is Windows 10, with IT antivirus & managed, GUI doesn't work. I have another Windows 10 laptop that is not managed, not sure about antivirus software, but GUI does work.

I'll be migrating to a new main computer running Windows 10. Can the GUI run under a virtual machine? running VMware?

It appears that managed computer might be preventing a complete installation.

We have not tested a VMware installation of this GUI. We cannot confirm it will work.

The likely solution is to allow the software installation to not be impeded by the overwatching software on the computer having issues. If you can have a conversation with your IT team to allow the GUI to not be flagged during installation it might resolve the issue.

What if TI software install a virus with the tool installation? Although I complain about IT ... this one area where I'm ok with the watchdog. I don't install software often, so I'm OK with IT trying to ensure it doesn't have malicious intent.

Also, I don't know if its being flagged or not.
