DRV8704: SPI vs. HW Interface

Hi all

My customer has to drive 8 BLDC-motors and did intially look at using 8 x DRV8701.

As the design is space-constrained he is now also looking at using 4 x DRV8704.

He would prefer using a HW / IO-based interface.

If my understanding is correct the DRV8704 must be configured by SPI, can you confirm this ?

Hi Ueli,

If the default values can be used, there is no need to configure the device by SPI. The DRV8704EVM uses the default values.

If the default values cannot be used, SPI is required.
