DRV8702-Q1: Wrong VIO when calculating chopping current on spec

Part Number: DRV8702-Q1

Hello, Team

Customer reported a wrong VIO refer when calculating chopping current on spec. Please check.

In DRV8702-Q1 datasheet, The VIO is listed as typically 5mV in the table below.

While in the Equation 1 in page 24, it was assumed as 50mV. Could you share with me how it was assumed? I am confused about it. Thanks!

  • Hi Alvin,

The paragraph after Equation 1 has a typo.

For example, if a 50-mΩ sense resistor and a VREF value of 3.3 V are selected, the full-scale chopping current is 3.28 A. The AV is 19.8 V/V and VIO is assumed to be 50 mV in this example.

The 50mV should be 5mV, which is the Input-referred offset only.

50mV would be (VIO * AV)
