DRV8886: Torque difference between DRV8813 and DRV8886

Part Number: DRV8886
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8813,
conditions
1.6A current setting is the same
decay mode mixed decay
Rotation speed 0 ~ 14563pps
DRV8813 mixed decay
DRV8886 mixed decay (Mixed decay: 30% fast)

Evaluation results
DRV8886 has higher torque (10% or more)
Remarkable from 10000pps or more

Is there a reason why the torque is increased by IC specifications?
  • Hello,

Torque higher means the average current higher. Would you compare the current waveform between two parts?

DRV8813 mixed decay has 75% fast. DRV8886 mixed decay has 30% fast. More fast decay brings the inductor current down more.
