DRV2625: Please tell me the procedure to control the DRV2625EVM-MINI with USB2ANY.

Hi Team,

I bought DRV2625EVM-MINI and USB2ANY for LRA drive.

When using the DRV2625EVM-MINI with USB2ANY, which version should I use with the firmware of USB2ANY?
VDD(=3.3V) was not output, when "DRV-USBCOM-EVM_v1p4" described in Haptic Control Console GUI User Guide (SLOU502A) page 7 (USB2ANY Setup Instrusructions) was used.
The CS of your company suggested updating the firmware with USB2ANY Explorer Software and tried to execute it, but even with that, I could not work with the Haptic Control Console GUI.

Therefore, please tell me the procedure to drive LRA with DRV2625EVM-MINI using USB2ANY again.

Hi, Liu,

Could you provide a picture of the connections that you are using between the USB2ANY and the DRV2625EVM-MINI? The USB2ANY basically acts as a USB to I2C interface. So, you would need to connect the I2C pins to the EVM.

Could you also provide a capture of the Haptics Control Console, please?

Hi, Liu,

I have been searching for more information about this. Unfortunately, the DRV2625EVM-MINI cannot work with the Haptics Control Console. All the Haptics Drivers EVMs have an on-board MSP430 that requires of a specific firmware depending of the Windows version. Since the DRV2625EVM-MINI doesn't have onboard MSP430, it will require to be connected to an external controller and configure the device through I2C interface.

I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you have additional questions or comments on this.

Hi, Liu,

The MSP430 installed in the USB2ANY only works as USB to I2C interface and you won't be able to use all the Haptics Control Console commands.

However, you could try to use it just for I2C control.

On the Haptics Control Console main window, did you press the "Connect" button? It seems that the EVM firmware was recognized correctly.

In addition, did you populate the I2C resistors in the DRV2625EVM-MINI?
