DRV8308: over temperature fault

in data sheet : over temperature fault section :

If the RETRY bit is set after the temperature has fallen below the OTS threshold, the part re-enables itself after a
fixed delay of 5 s.

my question is : should i enable the driver manually (set enable pin) once the temperature has fallen below the OTS threshold(check fault pin and OTS bit) or it will be not good for driver ?

Hi Gehad,

It is entirely up to your discretion depending on your application. Automatic retry (RETRY = 1) or manually asserting the RESET pin (RETRY = 0) will not hurt the motor driver.
