DRV8313: DRV8313 Peak Current

Hi Team,

The datasheet tells DRV8313 has 2.5A peak current, what does the peak current mean?

Does it mean continuous current without damaging? If not, what's the continuous current in room temperature?

Or does it mean the peak current with limited time? If so, what's the duration for 2.5A peak current for FOC control?

Hey Hao,

The 2.5A peak current refers to our recommended peak current for use across the full temperature range.

The true peak current is limited only by the minimum OCP (overcurrent protection) threshold of 3A. At room temperature you can drive up to a 3A peak.
