The DRV8428E is similar to the DRV8835. The DRV8428E is rated for 33V and 1.7 peak output current. If the customer requires a higher current rated device, the DRV8424E and DRV8426E are good options. The DRV8424E, DRV8426E, and DRV8428E can support high-side and low-side braking. However, these devices are in preview at the moment. Below is a side by side comparison of these parts.
If the customer needs parts that are in production, then I recommend the DRV8881, DRV8841, or DRV8843 depending on their current needs. Below is a side by side comparison of these parts. All of these parts can support brake (or slow decay) mode.
