Hello,

We mounting a sensor to a motor so we can control the pan and tilt after its installed.

We are planning on using the DRV8847 to drive the motor and using a 3-axis accelerometer to measure pan and tilt.

Do you have a recommendation for a 3-axis accelerometer and an eval board that communicates via I2C. All we need this for is to calculate the static angle so no special requirements from and acceleration standpoint.

Are there any integrated motor drivers that will be able to give us this data without an accelerometer?

Hello Thanks for your post.

We are unable to offer 3 - axis accelerometer IC. We do have Hall sensing portfolio especially the TMAG5170 that is a 3D integrated hall sensor that can measure magnetic field in 3 axis and can point you to measure the pan and tilt and it does require magnet as a target.

Would a Hall sensor work for your application ?

The hall sensors are not ideal since they need an external magnet as opposed to using static gravity.
