DRV8304: Which PWM Mode is suitable for SVPWM Vector

Hello all,

I implemented the last weeks a FOC algorithm with Matlab/Simulink and now I want to change on the hardware mode. So I want to ask if you have a suggestion about, which PWM Mode is better to be used with SVPWM Module?

I would appreciate your suggestion and I think I could save a lot of time. :)

Hello Nikos,

Most customers will use 6x PWM mode, which is PWM_MODE = 00b or MODE Pin Tied to AGND, for FOC type algorithms.

Hello Cole,

and that means, I need 6 diffirent PWM Channels from my contoller?

Hello Nikos,

Yes, the INHx, and INLx pins will represent the 6 PWM inputs to the driver which will result in the output PWM exposed to the gates of the FETs and motor phases.

Please take a look at the Truth table in the datasheet that will correspond to the state of the gates of the DRVx.
